Consultation Terms & Waiver

Purpose of the Consultation

Consultations are offered to provide professional artistic guidance in selecting a sculptural focal point for your space, with a Gail Marra Design Studio piece or explore commissioned options.

By booking a consultation, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms

Consultation Packages & Fees

Online Consultation – R750

Includes:

  • Initial online consultation

  • Assessment period

  • Second online meeting

  • Written artwork recommendations

  • R500 artwork credit, valid for 30 days from the consultation date

In-Person Consultation (Site Visit) – R1,200

Includes:

  • On-site consultation and measurements

  • Assessment period

  • Second online meeting

  • Written artwork recommendations

  • R500 artwork credit, valid for 30 days from the consultation date

 

Travel:
Travel costs may apply for locations more than two hours outside of the local area. Any additional travel fees will be communicated and agreed upon in advance.

Artwork Credit

  • The artwork credit may be applied toward the purchase of artwork only.

  • The credit is valid for 30 days from the consultation date.

  • The credit is non-transferable, has no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for refunds.

  • Consultation fees apply regardless of whether artwork is purchased.

Payment Terms

  • Full payment is required at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled consultation.

  • Consultation fees are charged for professional time, creative expertise, assessment, and written recommendations.

  • Fees are separate from the cost of any artwork or commissioned piece.

Booking, Cancellation & Rescheduling

  • Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment are non-refundable.

  • With sufficient notice, consultations may be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date.

  • A 20-minute grace period is allowed for late arrivals, provided communication is made in advance or as soon as possible.

  • Arrivals beyond this window may result in a shortened session or be considered a missed appointment.

  • No refunds or discounts are offered for missed appointments, no-shows, or absent group participants.

In-Person Consultation Terms

  • Clients are responsible for providing accurate address details and ensuring access at the scheduled time.

  • If access is not available within the 20-minute grace period, the appointment may be considered a no-show.

  • Travel time, preparation, and on-site assessment are included in the consultation fee unless otherwise agreed.

Scope of Consultation

  • Consultations focus on identifying, refining, or selecting a sculptural focal point and artistic direction.

  • Full interior design services, space planning, or technical drawings are not included unless agreed upon separately.

  • Clients are encouraged to come prepared with measurements, reference images, and relevant context to maximise the value of the session.

Artwork Selection & Commissions

  • A consultation does not guarantee the purchase of artwork.

  • If a suitable existing piece is not available, commissioned artwork may be discussed.

  • Commissioned works are governed by a separate commission agreement.

  • Due to the custom nature of commissioned artwork, all sales are final once production has begun.

Creative Disclaimer

  • Artistic guidance is subjective, and final decisions remain the responsibility of the client.

  • While care is taken to align recommendations with the space and brief, specific outcomes or personal responses to artwork cannot be guaranteed.

Waiver & Limitation of Liability

By booking a consultation, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Participation is voluntary, and you assume responsibility for your space, decisions, and outcomes.

  • Consultations provide creative and artistic guidance only and do not constitute architectural, engineering, medical, legal, or therapeutic advice.

  • The artist is not liable for dissatisfaction, installation decisions, third-party services, or outcomes beyond the consultation scope.

  • Any liability is limited to the consultation fee paid.

Agreement

By booking and attending a consultation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Consultation Terms & Waiver.
